- From Issue to Warrant Article: Make it Happen!
Thursday, November 9, 2017
7:30 to 9pm
Fowler Library Meeting Room
Have you ever wondered how an article appears on the Town Warrant or how special Town Meetings are called? Or why some motions require only a majority approval at Town Meetings, while others need a two-thirds vote? Have you seen notices for Town Hearings and wondered what happens at these gatherings and what role citizens can play? If you have puzzled over any of these issues, you are not alone.
The League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle, the Concord Free Library, and the Concord Town Government are combining resources to offer three free seminars to address these issues for and with the public. Each event will take place in the evening, from 7-30-9:00, and be recorded for future use. Please join us as we: Map the Road to Town Meeting.
The first seminar is November 9th, “From issue to warrant article: make it happen” will feature Mike Lawson (Select Board), Anita Tekle (former Town Clerk), and Kaari Mai Tari (Concord’s present Town Clerk), at the Fowler Library in West Concord. It will be a primer on creating successful warrant articles.
