Exploring the Animated Picture Book with D.B. Johnson

Author/Illustrator D. B. Johnson presents the newest addition to his “Henry series of picture books,” titled Polly Wolly Willy Woggle and Other Rhymes From Walden. As the name implies, Johnson has written a book of nursery rhymes that are based on memorable passages from Henry David Thoreau’s Walden. Two things separate this book from Johnson’s five other Henry books: Polly Wolly Willy Woggle is only available as an e-book and comes complete with Nature sounds, optional narration, and animation!

Johnson will demonstrate his drawing process, read the book, and answer questions about the inspiration for his rhymes, his animation process, and the pros and cons of e-books for kids.
