Citizen Clark … A Life of Principle, film preview

November 17, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Citizen Clark … A Life of Principle, a film about former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, featuring former NYPD detective Frank Serpico, followed by a Q & A with director Joseph Stillman.

Henry David Thoreau’s essay, “Life Without Principle,” charted Ramsey Clark’s course to live a deliberate and examined life. Like Frank Serpico, a former NYPD detective, who shed a light on the corruption in the NYC Police Department in the 1970s, Clark was introduced to Thoreau’s writings in high school.

Documentarian Joseph Stillman will answer questions about Clark and the making of the film, which has archived footage of the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations. A modern day John Adams, Clark defended the prisoners of the Attica uprising, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and Frank Serpico, among others who no one would defend.

The Nov. 17 events are open to the public.
Suggested donation $10 at the door; students free. The donation covers the 3pm panel discussion which introduces the movie.
